Karen Saravia-Orellana is a (Pre-K to 12th grade) Spanish/English teacher turned Work-At-Home Mom to a handsome little 3 year old boy. She came to the United States (with her family) from Ecuador when she was six years old and learned English with the most wonderful first grade teacher, who instilled in her the love of making learning fun!

She lived in New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Spanish, and a Master's in the Art of Teaching. During that time she met and married the love of her life and rejoiced in welcoming their first child in 2016. She has enjoyed three years with my beautiful son before returning to creating Spanish and English teaching resources that she loves and so will you! She wouldn’t be able to do all this without the support of her wonderful husband who is an important part of the team.

She has been teaching since the age of three, when she taught her stuffed animals Bible stories and hasn't stopped since. She has taught and directed Christian kid-centered clubs known as Adventurers and Pathfinders, since the age of 18, teaching arts and crafts, life skills, camping skills, nature, the Bible and much more. She has taught Spanish (full-time and part-time) in both private and public school, from Pre-K to 12th grade, since 2006. She has also taught ESL to both kids and adults over the years.

Karen loves to create engaging and fun lessons, filled with hands on activities for all age groups. She loves sharing her teaching ideas on her blog with teachers and parents. You can enjoy all her fun ideas by following Love Teach Joy on her blog, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.
